Welcome to A Basset's Tale! This is the first post in my brandnew blog!
 
I created this blog to share some of my digital scrapbooking layouts and my mixed-media artworks with you. I craft and paint only as a hobby and I'm a newbie to digital scrapbooking, I practice to layout some nice pages for a little more than a month now, so please be kind with your comments! ;)
But nevertheless, I'm doing some paper crafting (I LOVE paper ever since!) for some years now and over the time I bought a ton of awfully expensive supplies, all that stuff you "need" as a paper crafter: beautiful papers and cardstock in many colors, blank cards, embellishments, not to forget all the inks and stamps and embossing powders, of course. Then I bought a Sizzix and a whole load of dies and embossing folders, to craft my own embellishments. After the Sizzix came the Silhouette Portrait...and THEN I found out, how to use my Photoshop! - everything about paper crafting was forgotten! Me? A paper crafter? No, Ma'am! (just kidding, I will always love paper!)
-As you can tell, I've spend a lot on scrapbooking-supplies, but almost didn't work with them at all. I came up with three reasons for that: a) "real" paper crafting takes a lot of time (for me, at least, because when I start fiddling around with some supplies and play with all those beautiful embellishments, I can watch the hours fly by...) , b) I must be related to Ebeneezer Scrooge, because when I want to use some of my stack, I go like "Oh, that was expensive... what if I mess it up? Then the cardstock (or paper or canvas or whatever...) will be spoiled. So I better not use it and save it for another day..." (does that make any sense to you? Are you familiar with situations like that as well? -please let me know, if you're struggling with the same problems or if I'm just nuts!)  and last but not least reason number 3, eh... c):  I have to confess, that, yes, it's true: I'm a messy gluer! :)
So with digital scrapbooking i'm a lot faster and I avoid that embarrassing glue chaos! :)
-but well, "it's not all gold that glitters", as we say in German: now I'm fighting against stray pixels! -I guess, every crafter has her or his  special "enemy" in their workflow, right? ;)
But enough of my not-so-perfect glueing skills... I promise you won't find a lot of "glued" stuff on this blog!
