I love to scrap !

So, here is my first layout I'm gonna share with you: Scrap-oholic!
Scrap-oholic, Layout by Conny,
Supplies used: "Iheartssd"-Kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs,
papers for the scrapped image: "Captured"-Collection by Blagovesta Gosheva

I was playing around with my photoshop and created that "scrapped" version of a picture of me to show my love for paper and scrapbooking.
I took a picture of myself, turned it into a black and white, used a filter on it to simplyfy it to only 6 shades of grey (haha). Then I selected all of those shades with the wand-tool  (is it called like that in English? -you know, that little Harry-Potter-tool on the upper left side of your toolbar...) and put each selection on a different layer. After that my picture was ready to pull the papers in. It's hard to tell in this picture, but in the original you can see that my blouse seems to be made of woodgrain and striped paper. The only layer that was left original is the medium-grey tones around the eyes and the mouth, because I just couldn't find a paper to match it nicely. Everytime I pulled  a paper into my layer, the picture lost it's sense, you couln't tell what it was anymore and recoloring or inversing the paper's colors didn't help. So after fussing around with it for half an hour, I finally decided to leave it as it is.
I like the result very much, so I decided to scrap a page with it. When I pulled my finished scrapped picture over to my document, I really liked the look of the two different versions sitting next to each other, so i decided that both of them will stay in the layout. For that purpose, the "iheartssd"-Kit from Sweet Shoppe Designs came in handy. I got the kit as a free gift together with a 10$-purchase and it is perfect for all those pages about scrapbooking.
And I really love SSD, their designers are so inspiring! I already bought some kits at their Sweet Shoppe, so I used the little badge saying "i heart ssd" and pinned it to my blouse! :)
